What is the Synonyms management feature in Luigi’s Box?
Luigi’s Box is a smart system powered by our state-of-the-art artificial intelligence that can recognize synonyms and help your customers discover the right products, even if they use different terminology or prefer other expressions.

How to configure Synonyms
Go to the Overview tab of the Luigi’s Box application and select the Synonyms option in the menu on the left. Click on Add new synonym. On the right, you can select between Basic and Uniderctional synonyms and start typing the synonym in the field below. Basic synonyms serve as two-way synonyms by default, so you don’t have to set them up both ways.
If you wish to create a one-way synonym, choose the Unidirectional synonyms option. You can write multiple synonyms and divide them with a comma as well. Click on Add synonyms, and Luigi’s Box will then show you links that match the synonym so you can select the product where the new synonym will lead. When done, click on Save synonyms and update items.
A good example of synonym configuration is for the word jeans. Since all jeans are trousers, you can set up a unidirectional synonym for “trousers” that will also include results from the “jeans” category. However, not all trousers are jeans, so a unidirectional synonym will not include all items from the “trousers” category if the customer searches for “jeans”.
